Seeking the shade.

It's been very hot these last two weeks, with temperature in the mid thirties with high humidity. Below are some fat sleek cattle seeking the shade under the big old pecan nut tree just beyond the dam wall.

Took this photo from the cottage veranda, distance about 300 meters.

I'm no pro, but I'd say that's pretty good detail for 300 meters!

Well, I won't complain about the cold here. It's better than mid-thirties and humid. Even though I'm not a cow, I think I'd join them under the tree.
Nice shot, Phillip. Unfortunately, it wouldn't enlarge when I clicked on it, but the picture is so nice and clear I can see plenty of detail. I especially like the weeds in the water.

It's a beautiful photo. Everything is nice and green despite the heat.

p.s. the photo enlarges when I click it. But obviously there are blogger issues if Kay can't get it to enlarge and the comment counter says '0'. I'm sure the issues will be resolved in time.

What size of lens do you use?? That's full of details, lovely picture of those cattle. I wouldn't mind a bit of that heat, for a few days anyway!

Joel, I use a CanonPowershot Sx40Hs camera with a Zoom lens, From 35mm to 80mm, (I think, I'm not tech boffin).

Out here in California we'd call that a "pile of cows".
