Beach cottage, Port Edward.

Due to the poor internet connection in Port Edward wasn't able to do much blogging. Over the next several of days I'l be posting regularly about my short holiday. The cottage belongs to the aunt of a young colleque of mine. The aunt who lives in Johannesburg has very generously let me stay here several times in the past and for a very nominal amount, basically just to cover the cost of utilities used.

Front view of the cottage, surrounded by a lovely shaded, sub-tropical garden, full of bird life. The going price for a cottage like this on the coast is about R800,000, or +- $100,000 US. Coastal properties are always more expensive than similar properties inland. Only about 4 minutes easy walk to the beach.

View of the lounge/dining room area, the whole front of the house is open plan.

Looking towards the kitchen.

Main bedroom with attached bathroom just off to the left of the photo. This was also the bedroom my friend Jane used.

Second bedroom and the room I used. Hardly got there and it looks like a bachelor pad.

Second bathroom.

What a delightful cottage, Phillip. I can easily imagine living there.

What a treat to use a cottage for your holidays. It looks so easy to live in and lovely to be so close to the beach. love and hugs Jo
