A pair of Red-billed Quelea in their non-breeding colours. These are tiny birds, but in some parts of the they are a veritable pest gathering in great swarms to destroy wheat crops, much like locusts. With mono culture man has created the perfect environment for these seed eating birds.

Yes, those queleas are a great pest in the Free State, but man has eradicated their natural enemy. I love the Egyptian Geese neck deep in that luscious wheat! Blessings, Jo
Hard to think of those little birds as pests, but I'm sure they can't be any fun in large swarms.
The geese are beautiful.

Concerning the little birds - the world was a better place when farmers raised a little bit of everything.
