Lanner falcons against an African sunset.

While on our usual late afternoon walk the Italian leprechaun and I spotted this pair of Lanner falcons. These raptors are considered near threatened, yet there are several pairs on the farm.

The pair sitting on the central pivot.

These photos have been severely cropped so the quality might not be so good.

Almost unreal.

Wow, Phil, what a privilege to see and have Lanner Falcons on the farm. I read that they're the only raptor fast enough to catch pigeons in flight. That's why we have too many pigeons in Africa now, because their natural predator is in decline. Your photos are beautiful. Love Jo xxx

Good that they have a save place. We want to protect endangered species as much as possible.
