Word verification and a new header photo.

I've had to go back to word verification as a result of spamming. I don't know why these people bother because it all goes to the spam box but that doesn't stop them, the spam just keeps on coming.  The big irritant was it came up in my email to, thus my return to the use of word verification.

You might have noticed that I've put up a new header photo, a panorama of the Drakensberg. It consists of five photos stitched together.

Howzit Phillip - I've managed to eliminate spam by not allowing anonymous comments ... works like a bomb ...
... personally I hate the word verification because I struggle to read the words and if I don't succeed in 2 or 3 tries I just give up ...

I don't let spam come to my email anymore and Blogger seems to capture 99% of it, so I don't consider spam a problem. I really don't understand the thrill in getting gibberish into someone's blog, though, and that's what most spam-mail is. I've almost stopped reading blogs that use word verification, because I often used to try 3-4 times before I could get a comment to take. Anymore, I try once and that's it. Some, I still read, but don't comment. Had to click four times this time to get one that I thought I could read. You'll know it worked if you get this.
